Welcome

Programs & Classes

The department has seven full-time staff members. All full-time staff are located at the Community Center, located on the corner of Monticello and Mayfield. Throughout the year, the City of Cleveland Heights offers a variety of programs for residents of all ages and interests, ranging from sports to the arts. Preschoolers can enjoy playful movement classes, and school-aged children can participate in summer camp, youth soccer, flag football, basketball, baseball, softball and ice hockey sports leagues. Week-long developmental camps are also offered. Adults can stay in shape with at the fitness center in the Community Center or take fitness classes. Seniors can choose from a wealth of opportunities, ranging from leisure or fitness to workshops and field trips. In addition, at the Senior Computer Center, senior residents can learn computer basics as well as explore the Internet.

Summer

During the summer, Cumberland Pool is the place to be! Families can enjoy the large outdoor pool and the little ones will enjoy the wading pool at Cumberland. Another great option for staying cool in the summer (as well as a great work-out all year long) is year-round ice skating at the Cleveland Heights Community Center, located at One Monticello Boulevard at Mayfield Road. Cleveland Heights also has five basketball courts, 18 tennis courts and a skate park. Indoor swimming is also available at Heights High School.

In addition, Cleveland Heights residents don't have to travel far to see top-notch entertainment at their own summer arts park! The municipally-owned and -operated Cain Park has two covered, open-air theaters. And the annual Cain Park Arts Festival in July is one of the top-rated outdoor arts festivals in the country. (See Cain Park for more information.)

Winter

During the winter, in addition to programs and activities at the Community Center, a wonderful sledding hill is located at Taylor and Superior Roads.
