Rules for Indoor Pool at Heights High School

  • The locker rooms close when the pool closes at 7:30am. Patrons have to clear the building at closing time.  Patrons are not allowed to get out of the pool at 7:30 and then go into locker rooms.
  •  At all times patrons cannot go to other parts of the building other than from Door 8 to the pool.
  • The indoor pool is a school facility, in use by students during their sports season. Patrons need to please respect the teams' space and belongings, and understand that the temperature of the water or air in the facility won't be adjusted.
  • The training equipment such as pull buoys, paddles, fins, caps and goggles, weights, etc. are just for the youth swim team members and not for public use.  
  • Staff will have kickboards available for public use upon request.
  • Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes or vapor devices, is strictly prohibited throughout the entire facility.
  • Glass items and containers are prohibited.
  • Use of obscene, profane, vulgar, derogatory, demeaning or threatening language or gestures is prohibited. 
  • Entering the facility by means other than proper check-in procedures is prohibited. 
  • Threats and attempts to intimidate employees, lifeguards or guests is prohibited. 
  • Throwing of articles in a deliberate or aggressive manner is prohibited. 
  • Physically striking another individual is prohibited. 
  • Attempts to goad or incite violence in others is prohibited. 
  • Vandalism to School property is prohibited. 
  • Racial or ethnic slurs are prohibited. 
  • Spitting is prohibited. 
  • Lewd or lascivious sexual behavior is prohibited. 
  • Theft of property or possession of weapons is prohibited. 
  • Use of drugs or alcohol is prohibited. 
  • Alcoholic beverages and any substance that could cause impairment are strictly prohibited. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied entry.
  • Valuables should not be brought to the pool. The CHUH School District, City of Cleveland Heights, and pool personnel are not responsible for the loss of personal property.
  • Staff reserves the right to inspect any bag or personal property.
  • Staff reserves the right to restrict or prohibit any action or behavior.
  • Any act that could be a threat to the safety and welfare of others or in any way interferes with the proper operation of the pool may result in ejection from the facility and/or the suspension or revocation of one's pass.
  • Management reserves the right to add, amend, or modify any rules or policies at any time.
  • Management reserves the right to limit and enforce patron occupancy at any time.
  • The CHUH School District reserves the right to make adjustments in daily operating hours at any time, without advance notice, for any reason as deemed necessary by management.
  • Walk at all times; NO running.
  • Swimmers must share lap lanes. Circle swim when more than 2 swimmers are in a lane. 
  • Pool privileges will be denied to anyone who willfully breaks the rules, endangers or disturbs others, fails to comply with pool policies or staff directives, or who in any way interferes with the operation of the facility.
